I’d like to add more, but I can’t find them amongst the noise of all of the professional blogs and newspapers, etc. If you’ve got one (especially if it’s your own!), please post a comment (which are all moderated) and I’ll be happy to add it!

Nest Thermostat Alternatives
Here are a few alternatives to the Nest thermostat that you may want to consider.
| Climate Saver, powered by EcoFactor (subscription based?) | |
|
Homewerks Radio Thermostat (I had something like this – the remote access is good, the general UI/UX of the device is effective, yet mediocre. It’s priced right though. Some people really seem to like it overall). It’s available under a few different names. As it has a very distinctive look, it’s easy to spot the clones. |
|
| Trane TZEMT400BB3 Remote Energy Management Thermostat (and a whole kit) | |
| Ecobee EB-STAT-02 Enabled Smart Internet Thermostat (really has good ratings and apparently is quite extensible!) | |
| BAYweb Internet Thermostat from Bay Controls (even better reviews – although the installation and device itself is unique) (product sheet). This one looks really extensible and I’m disappointed I hadn’t looked more closely at it. |

Looking very closely at Nest, for obvious reasons
Been using it for over four weeks now, and have most of pros and cons documented here: http://diy-zoning.blogspot.com/search/label/Nest
