I did an extensive kitchen remodel which involved hardwiring several 240v lines for GE Monogram appliances. I have the Advantium 240 Wall Oven and absolutely love it. It comes with a 3 metal trays, glass microwave tray and a rack for the middle of the oven that fits a 9x13 pan. The microwave is a microwave, no big deal. But the speedoven is phenomenal. No more preheating. When my kids come home starving from playing outside, in under 10 minutes I can whip together a quick meal of chicken nuggets/fish sticks (the frozen kind) and pasta (on my GE Monogram Induction Cooktop). My only wish is that there was more accessories like something to help remove the trays easily without risk of burns and some type of oven and tray cleaner for burnt on stains. I would definitely get this oven again.

Ouch. It must still be getting power. It must have a second circuit powering the display.

My Advantium 120 quit working after 7 years. I have one flashing dash on the upper left hand corner of the display, next the the favorite recipe button. I can't get the flash to stop, even by turning off the circuit. Can't find any way to reset the oven. Any suggestions?

Just installed the Ad 120, and I have to admit I'm disappointed. So far, the only feature we've used is toast (one of the reasons we bought it was to free up counter space by getting rid of the toaster oven, which I use all the time) and it took forever. We tried toast, broil, and speedcook and all took much longer than the standard toaster. I haven't tried anything else yet, but I'm hoping that with practice I'll figure out a better way. I must say that if you can go with the bigger model (I could have and didn't- am know kicking myself over a few hundred dollars,) do- the extra power probably makes a big difference. I've used Profile appliances for years, but this doesn't seem on par with what I've always had. Any suggestions about toasting bread, bagels, English muffins? Thanks.

tonight we used a large crock pot (oval in shape) in our unit and discovered that once the dish touched the door, the unit automatically changed directions and rotated the pot in the other direction until it touched the back... then it reversed the rotation again. My husband was thrilled that the Advantium 120 was intelligent enough to do this and thus allow him to use his larger containers.

@Carrie -- sorry you don't like it. Why did you buy it? What features led to the original purchase?

I don't know how to stop the tray from rotating. I don't know how to do that in my Microwave either. More importantly, since the advantium isn't an oven and the cooking elements aren't distributed perfectly around the interior, I don't know that you'd get even baking/cooking if things didn't rotate.

I have a GE Advantium 120 microwave/convection oven, and I absolutely hate it. It is atrociously inconvenient. Switching trays (from microwaving to baking) is bad enough, but you also have to add a stupid rotator thing under the metal pan. Worse yet, is that there is no apparent way to stop the tray from rotating -- so even though the oven is large enough for a 9x13 pan, the rotation causes the pan to keep hitting the front and back of the oven during the entire cooking process. I hate this oven so much. If it hadn't been so difficult to install, I would have returned it. P.S. Did I mention that I hate my GE Advantium 120?

found you by googling Advantium. We are unique in that we bought a 240 over the range, for our new FL cottage, and then shortley thereafter a NIB 2005 120V over the range for our CT home…..it’s been interesting cooking with both. For sure if we ever remodel the kitchen in CT, we are getting a 240. I’ve joined the Advantium group at yahoogroups, and tried to find info and recipies….I’ve been a gadget guy since birth. Had dad buy my mom (while she was away visiting her sister) an new kitchen, circa 1976,,,,,,new Fridgidaire Touch ‘N Cook glass panel touchpad range…….over a grand in ’76, Fridgidaire Jet Cone Washer and top freezer “refreshment center’ refer.dragged home a friends broken Corning Counterrange, the year before, as we were building our new rec room with kitchenette,,,,,complete with Corning Cookmates…..the only stuff you could use on the cooktop.I’d like to see some more discussion of reciepes and maybe a cookbook? for Advantium owners? This appliance has long been neglected at GE. Me being an appliance geek, knew all about it, but the stores have not a clue.in closing I’ll tell you that tonight we decided to cook steaks in the 120, and found out it takes LONGER than conventional cooking……!!!Dan

I have an Advantium 120. The sales person didn't tell me that you couldn't use 9x13 casseroles, which I use all the time, and that you couldn't stop the tray from rotating. Has anyone figured out how to bypass the rotating tray on this model and use larger casseroles.

You can use anything you want -- as long as you're careful with the Microwave feature. Because of that, we almost always use the types you're referring to as using the microwave as one of the cooking types usually decreases the overall cooking times quite measurably.
